Super friendly staff and great food! We tried the classic rolls (avocado/cucumber and California), sweet & sour chicken, and a vegetarian dish and everything was great! There's not much more to say really, though, except I'd be back!

The mussels in curry sauce was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend. The sashimi was well prepared and tasted fresh. Service was very friendly and fast.

I give this place 1 star because my Chinese dish tasted really bad. My worst Chinese experience . The sushi however, was good.

We visited this restaurant on our recent trip to ocean city based on yelp reviews. We were not disappointed! We had the fried zucchini and crab appetizer which was delicious!! We ordered several sushi rolls. The kawasaki roll was my favorite. Our server was friendly and attentive. We will definitely come again the next time we are in o.c. everything was fresh and delicious!

Over the years the food, service, and atmosphere have been consistently great. I love the Kawasaki roll, Rainbow roll, Dragon roll, Dynamite roll, and the Volcano roll. If you like nigiri, the octopus is great! Definitely one of my favorite places.

This was a very yummy deviation from everything else we ate on vacation. There's more ways to eat seafood at the beach than the typical AYCE joints. Try the sushi, rice bowls and the spicy shrimp appetizer!

The food and environment at the Rice House are excellent. Very upscale dining experience with polite wait staff. I'm not a big fan of Asian food, but the food at the Rice House is hands-down amazing. Food prep looks very clean and trustworthy whereas there are other Asian restaurants that are a health department nightmare. The owner is almost always there and cooking along with the rest of the large kitchen staff. Dishes are all prepared with great care, so when they're busy, sometimes it can be a little slow, but overall it's definitely worth it!

Still as good as when I came last year Highly recommended I would give it more than 5 stars

I would have not known about the Rice House until I searched for sushi near West OC on google. Wow! What a little gem of a place! The other Yelp reviews were what persuaded me to try it and I'm glad I did. My sushi was take-out but it looked like a quaint place to sit at the cozy little bar.

First time here was a great experience! Very friendly and attentive staff. I ordered the seaweed salad, grilled squid app, and the tiger roll which was shrimp, tuna, lump crab, spicy mayo and seaweed wrapped in a white soy paper.. Was simply amazing. Very fresh. The grilled squid was as authentic as it gets. They also have a full menu as well. Don't overlook this gem.

This place was about average. Service was ok. We didn't have any napkins or silverware until we finally asked for them. Waitress was nice and checked in a lot though. Wonton soup was REALLY salty! Wontons were good though. We shared the happy family. It was tasty.

Up scale Asia food! We try to go regularly and I have always had incredible meals, not one bad ! Noodles, sushi or even asking for them to create a special dish, all have exceeded my expectations. I am truly not overstating the quality. They cook with LOVE and it shows.

Over priced for SLOW service and less then desirable food. As a local I would recommend many other Chinese restaurants over this one.

After 3 days at the beach. This was a great find. Fusion Asian food is something I'm still getting used to but the kids loved it and prices were reasonable. I recommend the spare ribs and lettuce wraps.

Good kung pao and the sushi we tried (spicy salmon roll and spicy california roll) were good as well! Nice fusion of Chinese and Japanese; great staff/service, too!

So I was looking for somewhere that had tempura oysters in Ocean City MD. Found The Rice House Bistro here on YELP and then on Facebook. Saw on FB they had a special on Oysters at one time and also had squid ink pasta. I called and they said it was only a special at one time. Then Mr B got on the phone and said "When are you coming"? I said tomorrow. He said "I will go and buy oysters and make it just for you". And that he did! I also wanted some Calamari, so Mr B added it to my Squid Ink pasta, which was incredible...Italian restaurants would be jealous!!! Where else can you go and they will totally custom make this type of food for you? Also got General Chicken...THE BEST I EVER HAD...and I have had it MANY places!!!! i am going back for General Shrimp! The lettuce wraps were delicious too! The Beef Chow Fun was slightly too salty but also good. The waitress from Latvia was awesome too...she was very nice. She kept thanking us for coming. She kept the water glasses full too! Where else can you get this kind of service? Thanks you Mr B! :-)

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Ocean City, MD! This place is a bit off the beaten path however it's well worth the drive. The restaurant is located an 1/8th of a mile from Rt. 50 close to the inlet drawbridge. Once there, you'll be greeted by their awesome staff; Mr. B is usually cooking in the kitchen and the Mrs. is charming everyone who walks through the door. As far as their food, it's a mix of Chinese and Japanese cuisine. The kids usually order lo mein of fried rice but us adults order the specials which are truly incredible. I have enjoyed the likes of Cod stuffed with crabmeat with a miso butter sauce, a huge chunk of Tuna stuffed with crabmeat, a phenomenal Chilean Sea Bass and many other great entrees. They also serve incredible sushi! I would definitely order the austin roll, the dragon roll, the volcano roll and the dynamite roll; you won't be disappointed! Folks, the Rice House Bistro is a great place to eat. It is truly a hidden gem and the locals flock to it. We found it by happenstance when my wife went to get her nails done 2 years ago and have consistently gone there to eat since then. There is rarely a wait (although I have been telling a lot of people about this restaurant) and its well worth the extra 10 minutes to get there! Buon Appetito!

We went down to OC for St. Patty's Day this year. We went to this place while we were there based on other Yelper's reviews. There were four of us eating dinner and two of us thought the food was awesome and two of us thought the food was decent. We all agreed that the service was great. We had a nice younger lady with what we thought might be a Russian accent? She was very attentive and friendly. Prices were a bit on the high side, but I'd go back if I'm in the area again.

My wife and I have been here twice in the past few weeks. On both occasions, the service has been friendly and efficient and the food delightful. At the start of the meal, the server brought out a bowl of fried noodles. Both my wife and I were pleasantly surprised; these noodles were not only light and fluffy but also not in the least bit oily. I would have liked to start with a bowl of Hot & Sour soup, my favorite; however, oddly, on both visits, they had run out! I accept that it's a peccadillo of mine but I form my first impression of every Chinese restaurant based upon the distinctiveness, or lack thereof, of their Hot & Sour soup. One of these days... On our first visit, I ordered a few maki (roll) sushi and my wife the sesame chicken (she's addicted...). All of my rolls had generous amounts of fresh fish. The wife's chicken was similarly remarkable: the chicken only had a light coating of batter unlike the typical Chinese restaurant fare. Rice House charged a dollar extra for an only white meat order but it was well worth it. While my wife again indulged in the sesame chicken on our second visit, I tried the kung pao tofu. Most Chinese restaurants give short shrift to their vegetarian entrees. I'm glad to say that Rice House is not among them! It was excellent. Their beverage selection is similarly noteworthy. The menu has no fewer than five types of sake. Of more personal interest, they offer several types of what I was told are house-blended teas. While I didn't sample any of these, their (unsweetened) iced tea tasted similar to barley teas that I've had before. For a change of pace, give it a try. Finally, be sure to ask for fried rice on the side. The Rice House seems to prepare their fried rice in a fashion similar to many Japanese steakhouses (tepan yaki) -- or at least the flavors and textures are akin to it: light but not sticky, slightly browned, with each ingredient standing on its own. It's a comfort food recipe that I've never been able to replicate at home in the kitchen.

We found this place though Yelp. My Thai wife and her Thai friend did not enjoy the food here. They felt the food was bland and too expensive. However my son and I thought it was good but not great. I doubt we would return.

Here on vacation from California and finally I found a really good Chinese restaurant. The food was really good but pricey. The service was good and they were very friendly. The dining area is very nice, clean and modern.

This is consistantly a great restaurant. If you love sushi, it's a must try here. I was a little leary when the made the move to West O but they still have the same awesome food and great service they have had for years. No one can beat their chicken and broccolli!

This place is for you if you enjoy eating your food in a very dimly lit area. They dress very authentic but while we were there the food came out very slow. I'm not sure if it was the time of day (around 1pm) or not. The sitting area is somewhat small and can get crowded if a large group were to dine there.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
